Where the Wild Things Grow
This series functions as a portrait of the city of Nijmegen through the eyes of a native. The work shows the leftist stronghold on the east side of the Netherlands and tells a story of a city that, through this leftist mentality, has gained some peculiar characteristics. The ever-present greenery throughout the city results in a certain form of decay and carelessness that is rarely found in the Netherlands. However, the work is everything but a complaint. On the contrary, it tells about the love for a place not too worried about coloring within the lines and captures a sense of freedom by observing the poetry of the everyday.
